On 12 November 2024 the national conference “Healthy Lifestyle and Fitness of Uzbekistan” opened in the Bukhara region, organised together with the National Healthy Lifestyle and Fitness Association of Uzbekistan and the Bukhara Regional Youth Affairs Department. The event addresses the promotion of healthy living in the country, the development of sport and fitness, and ways of drawing young people into an active life.
The seminar covers the key principles of building a healthy lifestyle, maintaining health and preventing chronic non-communicable diseases.
It examines modern approaches to preventing cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity, the role of balanced nutrition and regular physical activity, and the effect of sleep quality, stress and emotional state on the body.
Particular attention is paid to practical advice on healthy eating: increasing the intake of vegetables, fruit, wholegrain foods and dietary fibre, and limiting sugar, salt, processed meat and trans fats. Participants learn about weight management, recommendations on physical activity and ways of reducing everyday stress.
Separate sessions address circadian rhythms, sleep hygiene, emotional intelligence and self-help techniques for anxiety and acute stress. Digital tools for assessing body mass index and the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease are also presented.
The main aim of the seminar is to raise awareness of the principles of healthy living and to build practical skills that help maintain health and prevent disease.
